Today I took a break from all of the moving in business. Actually, a good friend said I was going and I was smart enought to agree with her. Every year at Christmas the Redwork group that I attend each month has a little get together and a small gift exchange.
Among the members of this group are two delightful ladies from Japan. These lovely ladies speak very little English but they have a great time at the meetings. And....they do absolutely exquisite needlework all by hand. Earlier this year they did a program on origami that I blogged about here.
Today, as part of the gift exchange, I had the honor of receiving a gift from one of these Japanese ladies.
I received this lovely, wonderful crazy quilted Christmas stocking. The top cuff on the stocking is made of a very soft, fluffy, fun, faux fur fabric.
I was so honored and surprised that I forgot to take close up pictures of the lovely stitching and quilting. She even used some metallic threads.
I think I had better make time to post tomorrow with more close up pictures.
Have a super great sewing and stitching day. Look for me tomorrow or the next day.
Aren't you glad I dragged you there? Dragged? drugged? Well, I would have drugged you if I needed to in order to get there...lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for the house tour...it's beautiful..
Your gift is just beautiful. It looks as though it was hand embroidered and quilted? Oh and the fur was gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMiss Nancy you are very lucky to have got that gift. I am glad you listened to Nancy and went. I am sure you all had a great time even though I wasn't there!!!
ReplyDeleteHow great to have a redwork group! I am green with envy!
